Do you ever feel like something is holding you back in life?  That part of you isn't able to move forward with your goals, hopes, and dreams?  Or maybe you feel a sense of disconnection with yourself or aspects of your life?  Oftentimes we may have an idea of where we want to go and how to get there, but we struggle with being able to take action.  This could be for a variety of reasons, and our work together could help explore the underlying thoughts, beliefs, and/or emotions that might be contribute to feeling stuck or disconnected.  


I use the latest in our understanding of neuroscience, emotions, and the mind-body connection to help clients gain more understanding and clarity on how these thoughts, beliefs, and emotions show up for them and contribute to either stuckness and disconnection or to action and engagement in life.  


My main goal is to hold a safe space for my clients so that they can reconnect with parts of themselves that they may have become disconnected from.  When we are able to re-connect with ourselves and live in a more balanced relationship to ourselves, we often find that we are able to move forward with our hopes, dreams, and goals in meaningful ways.

Group Therapy Course

Creating Mentally Healthy Lives

This psychoeducational and supportive small group is for adults who are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of depression and anxiety who want to learn about and practice healthier lifestyle habits that will help decrease their symptoms.  

​

Utilizing evidence-based lifestyle medicine practices as well as my own experience in what has helped individual clients, I provide education, support, and a workbook to help group members see how daily habits in their lives will lead to better mental health and physical health.  We will look at sleep, exercise, nutrition, stress, and more over 8 group sessions and apply practical strategies in each area.  The focus is on creating sustainable and healthy lives that help us feel good and do more of the things we enjoy.

Many of the symptoms of mental health and emotional concerns are the sense that we are out of balance.  Whether that stems from stress, trauma, relationships, or work, I bring a human centred, trauma informed approach in which I strive to help my clients make meaningful change in their lives in order to restore or create new balance.  My focus is to help you achieve your goals to live the life that you want to live.

Get to Know Me

Passionate, Compassionate, and Present

Using a blend of neuroscience and evidence based therapeutic modalities, I help clients explore the symptoms that are negatively impacting their lives and how they may be able to engage differently.  


I am a Masters level social worker registered in the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario.  During my masters degree, I specialized in military mental health and have experience working with military service members, veterans, and their families.  I have years of experience working in organizations associated with the military, in in-patient addictions and mental health, and in private practice settings.  Since my masters degree I have completed trainings in: 

  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

  • Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy 

  • Somatic Experiencing (SE)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) 

  • Intensive Short Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)

I am passionate about helping people who have experienced trauma heal and re-engage in their lives.  While I often work with people who are experiencing post-traumatic stress, I also work with people who present in a wide variety of ways who are looking to find more safety, satisfaction, and fulfillment in their lives.
